For some reason I can't zoom in with my tablet any more so it is now unreadable. I usemy tablet and swipe with my fingers to zoom. I would like to know if anyone else has the same problem but presumably if they did they wouldn't be able to read this anyway.

The page has elongated horizontally on my phone - not sure its you Or your tablet!

Never mind, it was my own stupid fault. I was swiping inwards instead of outwards. Nevertheless I've never seen it shrunk to this extent before.

No rankings run today, so nothing missed !

It is possible to download the official rankings from OER in an Excel file, but to reproduce the excellent tables would take a lot of work for someone of average spreadsheet skills. There must be a better way of doing it !

Yes, don't use Excel.

Maybe running this as a weekly thing anyway has run its course. if someone had the capability, maybe running it quarterly or after the 4 grand slams would serve the purpose, with maybe tracking the GB number to see how we progress or regress as time moves on? Just an idea.

I do think we should at least track the GB totals on a weekly basis.

agreed, and maybe someone is able to run a wider top nations assessment at key points, maybe the slams and year end?

But worth tracking GB.

Maybe there is a switch in emphasis from ranking the top nations to tracking GB progress week by week over the year and , maybe, that is easy to do at different levels e.g. top 10 average, and top 20 average?

If you shouldn't use Excel  what does work? A chart in word? I don't mind having a go, but need some advice on the best way.

Lambda may have a better way of doing it that simplifies the process. Personally I would use excel to present (and calculate) the information but it might need to be manually entered.

I just did a trial and it took me 10 minutes to produce the table for the top ten countries from the raw data from OER.

That doesnt feel too bad - I guess if you are doing it for all 40 plus nations with 10 ranked players, like Strongbow did, across both men and women, it would take a bit longer, but feels to me like it shouldnt be more than 30 mins for men and 30 mins for women, or is that underestimating it!!??

Personally, I dont think we need to have fancy graphs, just the ranked list like Strongbow did with movements since the last one, but I am less visual on these things so others may like the graphs he used to do!!

It would be great to keep it alive though!

miriam, if you're working them out individually, PM me and I'll tell you how to produce the full table with a couple of minutes work using libre office.
