UTR Tennis Tournaments (in Britain)

Brilliant - so that's £1500 for them (to share) and a WC into the MD of the ATP Challenger in September.

Great job, lads.

From Barry Fulcher and Cardiff:

"Congratulations also to our Ladies Winner Esther Adeshina, who picked you the title earlier in the event, playing 5 matches over 3 days in Cardiff - she picks up the winners cheque and $25k Wild-card next month!"

And also:

"Congrats @FelixGill11 on a big Progress Tour debut here in @CMetTennis - coming through some tough battles to scoop the £1,000 Winners cheque & $25k WC."

Felix beat Andy Watson in the final.

Not sure who Esther beat.

But love the 25k wildcard system - £1,000 cheque isn't too bad either

Well done to our teenagers.

I see from the website that the runners up get QWC's - can't see anything more on that site though.
www.theprogresstour.com/

The facebook page has partial draws and indicates that Danielle Daley was the #2 seed, and runner-up.

Tx, the addict.

A QWC for Dani is nice - she's only 18 too - an even better haul, then, for our youngsters. (And ex-college player, Andy Watson).

At the UTR event today, the men's final is Josh Paris v Dan Little.

Again, £1000 to the winner and a MD wildcard place in the 25k event

The women's semis were:

Dissanayake V Popescu
Dudeney V Adeshina

But not sure what the results were.....

Thanks, the addict.

And that's great news for those top 4 players, who're all getting their MD and quali wildcards. (Not sure they'd have got any otherwise).

Ok, not in Britain but run by a largely British academy in Spain, this week (27 - 30 Oct) sees the UTR Progress Tour event in Spain at Soto.

1000 euros for the winner.

63 players, 20 different nationalities.....

There aren't many names there that I recognise, but players such as Jonny Binding and Dan Bennett stand out, as well as a couple of youngsters such as Charlie Penman

There is a really enjoyable podcast called "what are you talking about Willis" with Marcus Willis and David Earl - they then have special guests each week and talk about various tennis topics. Last week they had Barry Fulcher on to talk about the Progress Tour and the reason why he started it etc. Very worth having a listen to.

(I interpret the title of this thread to the UTR events in UK and UTR events abroad where UK players are playing. Hope that's OK with others, doesn't seem worth setting up a specific thread, they seem to go together)

Anyway:

Max Andrews is playing in the UTR tournament in Barcelona

Yesterday he beat Vasil Dimitrov, ATP 1812, in two sets

Today's he's playing Alessandro Bega, ATP 350

A bit of a taller order....

A very comfortable win today, 6-4 6-0, for Max over Paul Cayre (FRA) ATP 1192

Lovely to see Ryan Storrie back on the court, and seemingly not injured.

With a two-set win in the UTR in California.

Which, of course, is where he grew up.

May the sun shine.....

And Blu Baker got a win too
