Emma now targeting Strasbourg

Re Andrew Richardson - I can imagine he wouldnt take on that job again without some serious guarantees. He has a job with this academy, why give that up unless he knew he was going to be treated well and securely going forwards? And if he is offered a 10% share of prizemoney type deal, he would want to see evidence Emma is actually going to be winning some money!

Having said that, she has won $364k this season already, which seems astounding to me (how?!) so she is on a run rate of $90k a month. Would $9k a month as a percentage (£7k?) tempt you (before tax, deductions) with no security etc? I am not sure it would if I was him.

Take a look at Emma's individual WTA site pages. Her ''matches' show her prize money for each tournament.

Anyway, she went into February, having 'won' over $250k :

United Cup - $106,000 - won no matches

Hobart 250 - $7,025 - won 1 match plus 1 walkover

Australian Open - $145,669 - won 1 match

Check out Aryna Sabalenka's Just Giving page to support her and other leading players' campaign for more prize money, more particularly from the Slams.

crazy - I got my numbers (which are apparently live) from LTR which now has prizemoney for men and women, singles and doubles.

Emm'as $364k has her as the 55th highest earner so far!

Just as an aside, after a pretty barren few weeks working with Roig (Emmas last full time coach), Iga Swiatek seems to have hit top gear again, taking out Pegula in Rome 6-1, 6-2.

To be fair I think he is a much better fit for Iga's game than he was for Emma.

 100%

And even better with both of them / either of them than he was with Gio Mpetshi Perricard

Article in the Guardian today claims that Emma has signed Andrew Richardson as her new coach. It is hard to tell whether this is The Grauniad reporting 'old' news which was subsequently found to be wrong or whether it really is that he is Emma's new coach.

It says it is on a formal basis starting next week in Strasbourg.

So looks like a permanent thing...Tum is a good reporter so reliable

And the BBC confirming it also

Feels like that decision took about 4 1/2 years too long!!!

You've just got to hope that this is right and that Richardson then leads Emma to something amazing - the movie rights are just too tempting !

I hope that he held out for at least 80% of her winnings on top of a massive salary.

imagine if the winning formula was simply putting the old batteries back in the controller !!

Wondering who would play Emma in the movie?

I think she once said Gemma Chan could even though she's twenty years older than her.

I hadn't realised the parallels with Bianca Andreescu:
