Emma Raducanu

She has her name down for both the WTA500 Korea Open starting on the 16th and the WTA1000 China Open starting on 25th. The last I saw she was about 7 out of the main draw for Korea.

Lets hope for a lack of hubris and she plays qualies if necessary.

I think she has been trying to balance training and match play while improving her ranking and avoiding undoing the repairs she had on her wrists and ankle this year. Unfortunately she didn't get her preparation quite right for the US Open, which she feely admitted afterwards.

She has a wild card for Seoul, and has made main draw cut for Beijing so no need for qualifying.

So Emma is in London, attending an Art exhibition in Regents Park. Suggests maybe injury is taking longer to heal, therefore putting the tournaments she is down for in doubt. Time will tell.

Another wretched injury though and I do wonder if she will finish her year now?

An unfortunate headline given her injury troubles.no

She just can't seem to get a break from injury after injury.
When you think that with not much play she was nearly back in the world's top 50.
Fully fit and more play who knows how much higher she would now be.

What Emma surely needs to have is to have good ongoing physio support, as she should whether she had had so many issues or not, but seems moreso with her injury history and financial means.

One never knows what to believe from reports but fairly recent suggestions that she had been travelling without physio support seemed rather alarming and unprofessional.

I am one who has always felt and said thst Emma can certainly get back at least to where she has been. Such huge ability as she has still managed to show at times this year. But to my mind she needs have a good consistent support team in place.

Yeah, totally agree. I seem to recall we discussed it on one of the tournament threads. It seems such a shame that she's not realising her potential because someone in her team thinks that a physio is an expense not worth paying - urm it's not like she's exactly short..
