Yes, thank you CD after eventually arriving in Tallinn. Our flight out from Manchester arrived on time in Germany, said the pilot, but

he couldn't park for a while so we lost our next connection. We were given apologies but had to stay overnight outside Frankfurt without

our stuff.  We woke early the next day to catch our flight onwards. Stressful. The wedding was lovely.

Lord, that would have given me stomach ulcers

But as long as the wedding went off well :) :) :)

What a wonderful moment

NB I just received a text last night from Ryan Air saying: 'so sorry to tell you we have cancelled your flight'

Cheers, Ryan Air - appreciate it - 'for commercial reasons' it said - what? not making enough money?

Do you want to re-arrange your flight? No, thanks, Mr. O'Leary, I'll go and book another one and you can just give me a refund (and thankfully there were other cheap-ish options) But irritating !!!!!

We flying this weekend and its with Jet2. They probably dont operate from your local airport (just Stansted near London I think) but they are , IMO, the best airline in that low cost market but a country mile. We arent doing it, just flights, but they also have a superb holidays operation as well as the flights side. Way, way, way better than RyanAir or Easy Jet

Do - definitely worth it. They are equal in size to EasyJet now, UKs biggest holiday company as well after they took most of Thomas Cook slots after their demise. Largely operate out of Leeds and Manchester and most other northern and Scottish airports. largely go to med, most major European cities. and tend to be main airports as opposed to the sorts of places Ryanair stick people in!

Week 34                                    19/08/2024

Having that 'Friday feeling' in singles this week are: -

USOQ m New York                                Jan

M25 Portugal                                         Ali

and in doubles : -

WTA500 Mexico                                 Liv + Tereza

ATP250 Winston-Salem NC                 Julian + Robert, Jamie + John, Luca + Dhakshineswar

WTA250 Cleveland                             Sam / Eden

M15 Tunisia                                       Ali+Nikita

We hadfour in the Final Qualifying Round of the US Open, 2 men- Billy and Jan and 2 women- Sonay and Lily.

Sonay and Lily lost to higher ranked opponents but I'm not sure what happened to Billy. However all three have

netted for themselves some useful experience, points and money.

Congratulations to Jan Choinski who will be joining Jack Draper,Dan Evans, Katie Boulter,

Emma Raducanu and Harriet Dart in the Main Draw.

Good luck to all.smile
