To note that Mimi has now broken into the top-100 - up 19 places to 95

This comes on the back off making the SF and QF of two J1 events in August

It makes her the 9th best ranked player in the world for her age

Interesting that she is 'only' 9th. I know girls generally come through quite a bit quicker but that seems quite a lot of young guns.

I'm not sure what it looks like normally....

As of now, there is 1 2008-er in the top 100 and 8 2007-ers, of which Mimi is the lowest.

However, if you were to do 'Non-East Europeans', then Mimi is top ! smile

I also think that Mimi is the only one still age 14 but I'm not 100% sure of that.

The other 8 are made up completely of Czech, Russian, Slovakian, Ukrainian and Bulgarian girls.

There are quite a lot of other 15 year-olds with WTA rankings that are not in the top-100 juniors - including North American girls, South American, Israeli

It's all a bit of a hotch-potch really - all I know is that the Czech Rep has the most amazing stable of young female players, given the size of the country, AND that Mimi and Hep are doing very well....

Ah she's 2007 born. I had in mind that she was 2008 and having 9 2008ers in the top 100 I guess would have been remarkable. Impressive though that she is still 14 yo.

As a quick update:

Mimi is now ranked JR 37

She is 5th best in the world - i.e. there are 4 players above her born in 2007 (and none born in 2008)

She made the final of the J1 in Mexico, the QFs in the JA in Mexico (losing to the eventual winner), and the final of a J2 in Spain.....

She also won the JA dubs title, with Ella.

Mimi is currently ranked JR 25

However, she seems to have done something serious to her foot - she's wearing a plastic boot thingy and obviously injured:

She is actually entered for the W15 main draw (Junior Reserved) in Monastir next week, but we'll have to wait for the main draw to be made on Monday to know if she's actually going to play.

Unless of course someone has better information !

Great win for Mimi. Apart from the first set she won 6-1, seems it was a close match
