Interesting that she is 'only' 9th. I know girls generally come through quite a bit quicker but that seems quite a lot of young guns.
I'm not sure what it looks like normally....
As of now, there is 1 2008-er in the top 100 and 8 2007-ers, of which Mimi is the lowest.
However, if you were to do 'Non-East Europeans', then Mimi is top !
I also think that Mimi is the only one still age 14 but I'm not 100% sure of that.
The other 8 are made up completely of Czech, Russian, Slovakian, Ukrainian and Bulgarian girls.
There are quite a lot of other 15 year-olds with WTA rankings that are not in the top-100 juniors - including North American girls, South American, Israeli
It's all a bit of a hotch-potch really - all I know is that the Czech Rep has the most amazing stable of young female players, given the size of the country, AND that Mimi and Hep are doing very well....
Ah she's 2007 born. I had in mind that she was 2008 and having 9 2008ers in the top 100 I guess would have been remarkable. Impressive though that she is still 14 yo.
She is actually entered for the W15 main draw (Junior Reserved) in Monastir next week, but we'll have to wait for the main draw to be made on Monday to know if she's actually going to play.
