I know people were complaining about the number of 25k we had in Britain but it's certainly been a factor for Sonay with 4 titles and 200 points. But for 1 poor tournament Alistair Gray would've replicated her and got into qualies too.
Sonay has been having some pretty decent results on grass.
She's beaten the world number 125 (Kenin), 136 (Hruncakova), 151 (Ruse), and today (with thanks to Steven's tweet):
Ilkley W100 R1: (WC)
@kartal_sonay is in one of her merciless moods today, thrashing no. 4 seed Simona Waltert SUI WR 113 (CH 107 last week), 190 places above her (and her 2nd biggest win by ranking so far), 1&0!
The ponytail of doom strikes again!
Sonay has posted a picture of herself on Insta in a hospital bed with a cannula in her arm and words to the effect of it being a "long story" but that she's on the mend. That must explain the recent withdrawals. Hoping to see her back soon.

Oh Sonay is just having such a torrid time with injury. Hasnt fulfilled her potential yet. Hope she gets better soon. Have to say Katie B must be an inspiration as she overcame years of injury to finally triumph. Get well soon Sonay.
