RE: 2024 Women's Predictions Competition

As usual my typist got names and places muddled up when making predictions. Apart from ignoring Emma completely for some reason they predicted 110 for Jodie and 250 for Sonay. However live rankings are now showing Sonay at 101 and Jodie 267 so obviously transposed there. However my typist supposedly knowing less on the subject  seems to have made less mistakes with the men.

To keep in line with the men's tables (where the ATP Far-east season has ended), here is an update based on today's rankings. Some big points changes this month due mainly to Emma and Sonay, and with Jodie slipping down, and a number of people have picked up points as their predictions come true.

I like your tables, TA!

Still the wrong way up though, sorry to tell you that

Brittak is on the podium in both womens and mens as it stands!

What ranking cutoff are you looking at for the final tables, TA?

I haven't finally decided yet. The ATP tour finished early November, the Challenger tour early December. The last WTA250 event also finished at the start of November, but the WTA125 events finish with Limoges in mid-December (and we often have a Brit in that one). I'll review it early November and see if there is likely to be much movement in the rankings.

Jodie and Marnie are in the Dubai W100 main draw this week and as far as I can see no-one else is playing within the top 15 women and there are no entries in the WTA125 in Limoges.

So I will produce the final table based on the 09/12 rankings, and call the men's at the same time.

Looking for a top week from them both then!

As it happens, Jodie's run in Dubai DOES affect the rankings table, so I'll be watching closely to see how far she gets.

So Jodie takes the Dubai title  biggrin  - moves up to GB #7 ahead of Lily who drops to GB #8.

Here is the final table - some big moves and SuperT jumps into the lead from the midddle of the pack.

The highlight being predicting Emma at 57 (exact), Harriet at 112 (9 out) Lily at 195 (10 out) and Marni at 255 (3 out) giving 37 points for those four alone. Brilliant !
