And here is the 2024 calendar for the Sir Andy Murray player of the month/season for the rest of the year: each month is 4 or 5 weeks. 

August 2024 - Sunday 25th August (ie end of week 34, as the US Open begins) - 4 week period; includes Paris Olympics

September 2024 - Sunday 29th September (ie end of week 39) - 5 week period; includes US Open, Davis Cup Finals Group stage, Paralympics 

October 2024 - Sunday 3rd November (ie end of week 44, end of Paris Indoor) - 5 week period includes ATP 1000 Paris and Shanghai, WTA 1000 Beijing and Wuhan 

November 2024 - Sunday 1st December (ie end of week 48) - 4 week period; includes Davis Cup finals week, BJK Cup finals week, ATP Tour Finals, WTA Tour Finals, NEC Wheelchair Masters

December 2024 - Sunday 29th December (ie end of week 52) - 4 week period; includes Next Gen Finals 

Player of the Season votes will then run: (slight amend to planned schedule below)

wild card nominations - these will be asked for during December and close December 31st

Wild Card Vote - Thursday 2nd January to Friday 3rd January

PoS Round One - Saturday 4th January to Monday 6th January

PoS Semifinals - Tuesday 7th January to Thursday 9th January

Over the past few years, we have had 56 players win or tie for a win in the Player of the Month votes.

Although the past two months have been won by men, overall our women have won 33 PoM's versus 23 for the men (a number of recent ties and also doubles wins are included in those numbers)

Looking at how many qualifiers for PoS we have so far, and how many months we have left, it feels like we will end up with more than 28 qualifiers this season. Perhaps 32, once we include a couple of wild cards qualifiers as well.

Which is great - PoS vote will therefore most likely follow the same structure of three rounds, with 4 groups of 8, semis and then a final, although 32 would also play into a nice 4 round process as opposed to 3 rounds. I will see where we land numbers wise and how it feels closer to the date

And here is the updated voting stats over the years

2024 43.8 9.38%

The past two months have shown a downward trend but overall we are well up on past seasons.

September in the past few years has had 21, 31, 35 and 33 votes respectively and is one of the slowest votes - we tend to pick up again in October and November, with Jan to April being the biggest voting months, for whatever reason. Let's see but September will most likely be similar to this month with voting in the early to mid 30's

With 4 of the 13 votes for the season left, plenty of tennis to come. With 19 qualifiers for player of the season so far, plus future months Pom votes to sort out more and year end number ones to join as well, it feels like we will actually end up with 28 qualifiers like last season, maybe 32 but Im predicting 28. Not that Im very good at predictions!
