Will be very interested to see who ends up in Spain on this week. Just a nip around the block and at the moment, very few work commitments that week. Plenty of others on the initial list who could make it in after the drop outs next Tuesday. Ali G and Stuart Parker of the ones I have met before.

Hi Bob. Quite a few Brits playing this event.
Definitely a couple of trips to Villena on the cards. Add Ewan Moore to the list of those I have met before. One thing is for sure, it won't be as hot as last time I was offering taxi service to Ali G and Ewan. It was 45ºc last time in Palma del Rio and they started play at 8pm and played into the early hours because of it.
I see Jack and Evo are playing doubles together in Los Cabos!
It is encouraging that JD feels suffficiently confident about his body to give doubles a crack! There seems to have been little news of him of late, though I haven't done any extensive searches.
Unrelated, and perhaps I have too much time on my hands if I notice such stuff, but there are four ATP tournaments in Week 29, the week straight after Wimbledon. This is definitely unusual, is it perhaps even a first? With many top ranked players happy to rest in the week after a slam, and one of these tournaments being an ATP500, this could give an opportunity for our grass court affficionados to make hay in Rhode Island!

This often happens in Olympics year when they need to cram in the tournaments.

I guess they have squashed those events into that week as the Olympics are just a week later. And the serious Olympic and clay courters will be in the other events that week, not playing grass in the States. I'd say the likes of Liam, Ryan, Arthur could all get in to this event (cut off is often low, below 200 sometimes) and make hay, as you say.
I think it is also the last Newport event, at least as part of the ATP Tour, didnt their license get acquired by another event, https://www.newportri.com/story/news/local/2023/11/08/2024-international-tennis-hall-of-fame-open-in-newport-will-be-the-last/71502226007/
Although they talk about re-imagining pro tennis at Newport, no idea what that is about?
Broady has pulled out of Los Cabos which is a bit concerning (although he is still in doubles this week?)
Liam still shows in the MD alts list (on Darts at least), is that just a timing and process thing or could he be still hoping to play if the alts list moves enough?
