nominations list: note. The font size keeps cutting double big and I have no idea why! Its on my phone and I have no idea how to stop it!
1. Oliver Bonding, for winning the J500 "Banana Bowl", dropping only one set along the way. Oli is the first British boy to win a J500 event since they were introduced in 2023, having earlier in the week become the first British boy to reach the semis or beyond of a J500 event. Prior to the introduction of J500s, only three other British boys had won any of the equivalent top-level "Grade A" tournaments, the last of them being George Morgan, who won the 2010 Orange Bowl.
2. Alfie Hewett - won the Super series Cajun Classic, beating world number one (Oda) in the final and for a secomd straight week to take his consecutive wins now to 12 matches. Also won the doubles title (w/ Gordon Reid). On 18th March, Alfie also went back to world number one!
3. Luke Hooper (2006) - two J100 singles titles, back to back, at Loughborough. Then he won the J100 title in Finland. That is his 3rd J100 title this month, for a 15-0 record - from pretty much nowhere - and he's flying up the rankings
4. Mingge Xu (Mimi) - aged 16 - for winning the doubles title at the W15 in Monastir - her first double tournament outside the UK. And she also reached the quarter final in singles (her fourth tournament abroad, all in Monastir), and then the semifinal in week 12 also in Monastir. A new CH of 677 on 01 April.
5. Olivia Nicholls - for winning the W125 doubles title in Charleston with Olivia Gadecki, her third title of the year. Maintains her ranking well inside the top 100 at WR78.
6. Andy Murray - for reaching the third round in Miami, and for winning the most matches of the British men over the IW and Miami sunshine swing, beating Goffin, Berrettini and Etchevery, and losing a Herculean match with Machac. Still the biggest heart out there. And doing it with destroyed ankle ligaments at the end of his match.
7. Bella Rebel - just been selected as one of 24 best 12U girls worldwide to compete at the IMG Future Stars event next month. Special mention from @marta_kostyuk. And made the QFs at the Super Auray U12 tournament, losing to the eventual winner, and being the best GB player, despite not being part of the GB team.
8. Katie Boulter - for reaching the last 16 in the Masters 1000 Miami, from a seeding of 24 and enhances her standing as our number one ranked female player at WR28 as at 01 April 2024
9. Francesca Jones - reached the Final in the Mexican WTA 125, beating WRs 137, 110, 183 and 119.
10. Lily Miyazaki - winning her second W75 singles title of the year and moving to a new career-high of 138 and up to GB #4 ahead of Heather.
11. Marni Banks - reached the semi-final in the W75 in Croissy-Beaubourg, France and consequently a new career-high of 252
12. Lucy Shuker - for winning back to back wheelchair doubles titles in Korea, the series 2 Busan Open and then, seeded second, the bigger series 1 Daegu Open.
13. Brooke Black - born 2007 - won the J100 title in Finland, 0 & 0. Beating the 2nd and 4th seeds along the way. Her first title at this level. And also did the doubles, winning the doubles with Flora.
14. Giles Hussey - for winning two M15 titles in the month and reaching a semi, recording a 13-1 in month record- Giles will also enter the top 400 for the first time once all the points are put on.

Eventually, after a slow month, Fran came through and almost got my vote; if shed maybe had another good week, Id have gone for her, or taken the title perhaps.
My vote eventually came between Alfie and Luke; Alfie beat the WR 1 twice, went back to world number one himself, raised the sports profile playing exhibitions in Rio and Miami.
Luke won 3 J100 events, went 15-0 on the month, pretty amazing really. Got two nominations even!
I feel like Alan Sugar now - it is with regret he says following a big but I hope others vote for Luke as Alfie gets my vote this time
Feels like this month will be very open, remember also that the top 2 qualify for player of the season at the end of the year! This is the 4th month (started with December 2023) of 13 months in this voting season.
Players of the month, runners up, British number ones at the end of December 24, and any British slam title winners get into player of the season.
Katie B and Marni were winner and equal second in February vote. Good to see them back in the list again - doesnt often happen that players are up there in repeat months, testimony to strong seasons, so far!
Oh my goodness, this is a tough vote. So many excellent performances this month! Lily, Marni and Fran for pushing on steadily; Alfie, Lucy and Olivia for continuining to perform at a consistently high level; Luke for having a breakthrough month....
But my vote went to Oli Bonding, not just because winning a J500 is an an excellent achievement in itself but also because it's such a rare one.
I voted for Fran. She might not be the highest achiever in absolute terms but every time she steps out on court I am in total awe of her. She had some stunning wins this week and I wonder whether she really did have a stomach problem which might have weakened her in the final.
Andy. You have to admire his determination and quite possibly without his injury would have won that Miami match, when he was only a few points away as it was. Could well have then won at least one more match (obviously without the ankle injury). He is still the role model for other Brits and we will miss him when he gives up.
