And the ball keeps rolling. April is a 4 week period, ending Sunday 28th April for PoM purposes. The eagle eyed will see Madrid starts a few days before hand, but if we moved the PoM cut off earlier, we would have a 3 week month this month and that isnt really going to work; similarly, if we moved it a week later, this month would be 5 weeks and May would end up as 3 due to the FO starting at the end.
So Madrid performances will have only just started by 28th April, and any Madrid performances will get counted as part of May, ie the month in which Madrid ends. Phew.
Usual process for April - Nominations below with name, supporting narrative etc and anyone can post at anytime for any reason.
Good start to the month of April and good to see number ratcheting up a little more last week in March and this. Sun is shining, tennis seems more exciting once again! For me, just need to grit my teeth and get through the red clay, and all will be good again!
1 Amelia Rajecki - for achieving 100 [college] career singles wins. Only the 4th player in NC State history to do so.
2 Hollie Smart (born 2009) - U16 British National Girls Champion (despite being year one)
3 Mark Ceban (born 2009) - U16 British National Boys Champion (despite being year one)
4 Henry Patten - for winning his first ATP250 title (with Harri Heliövaara) in only his second ATP250 final.
5. Johannus Monday - for achieving 100 (college) career singles wins. Holds an impressive .806 winning percentage at Tennessee & a 42-6 career mark at no.1 spot in the line-up
Oh, that's a great nomination for Johannus, to go with Millie's equally great nomination for the same achievement. With the two U16 champions (and the two U18 champions to follow), this month is already shaping up to be a really tough choice after only a week!
