Oliver is at University of San Diego with 2 years remaining where he plays as the top player in their singles line up. He finished the 2023-24 season at No 11 in the ITA rankings, earning him "All American" status. He was in the top 10 for most of the season. He is the West Coast Conference Player of the Year and won multiple WCC Player of the Week awards during the season. He reached the round of 32 in the NCAA Individual Singles National Championships. He was named the ITA Player to Watch for the Southwestern region in the end of season ITA Regional Honours announced last week.

I always liked Oliver's game. From the bits I saw - I seem to remember some ridiculously long match at junior wimbly that he lost by a whisker.

And I've seen him at Roehampton, as an adult

I see him more like JoMo, or Ali Gray (where are you, Ali?), or Jake Fearnley i.e. one of the US college players, rather than a Billy person

But would love to see him do well, defintitely

Yes, and it seems to me you can't have too many individual threads

The great thing is that they don't block things up and get in the way

Because if the player drifts off into obscurity, their thread just drops down and gets forgotten

(But it's waiting there, on page 6 or whatever, for when they suddenly have their glorious second coming

)

Not that this applies to Oliver, of course

Oliver won the M15 at San Diego on 16/06/2024. Congratulations to him this is the third of many. (Thanks to Indiana for the correct information smile )

Well, the third of many anyway. He has already won 2 Tunisia M15s in the last year. 3 titles out of just 7 ITFs in the year

Lamba where do you find all this out. Is it easy for anyone to find this kind of info somewhere? Where would you someone who knows nothing about college tennis to learn more?

Not quite - Paul won the NCAA event which is the premium college event, from what Lambda said this is a similar level but in fact acts as a qualifier for the NCAA. Maybe its Indian Wells to the US Open?!

Player info mostly comes from their college websites. Some colleges are better than others on the info they provide. Where to learn about college tennis? Good question and I'm not sure of the answer. I've mostly picked it from here and small bits here and there as I've gone along.
