Boys & Girls: J60 Loughborough, Great Britain - hard (week 41)

We've moved up a level, to a J60 this week

Qualis kicked off today

Girls

Top seed, Alice Haddad, came unstuck, losing to Daisy Wootton (2010)

2nd seed, Isabella Moss, also lost, to Alice Sharp

However, most of the other seeds came through

Boys

A more standard draw, with all the top four q seeds progressing

Girls R1

No major upsets

Megan won her match very comfortably but will play the top seed from Ukraine next, who won her R1 match 6-0 6-1

Lucy Bear (2010) beat Mititelu, which is a very good result for her

Nice to see Edie Griffiths (2009) playing again

Megan has a UTR of 9.92 against Polinas 9.78

On paper it should be a very even match. However, Polina has far more ITF experience and has also played W25s

BOYS R1

The top two seeds came through but Lawrie Wilkin (3) got beaten by Rafe Samuel and Dan Hughes (6) also lost, as did (7) Rhys Lawlor

well done to qualifier, Ollie Knight, for putting out the German player, and young Niall Pickerd-Barua for beating the Dutch boy

Is Larrie Rankin a younger sibling of Matt?
